Who writes this.

Taiwan Insider is a slow-travel publication filed from Taiwan's east coast. It is published by Eye Taiwan Co. — a small guiding operation based in Hualien, founded and run by William Ho.

We've guided this coast for fifteen years — rivers, trails, bike routes, and a few hundred thousand kilometres of road on two wheels. The publication exists because, every year, foreign friends visit us and ask the same questions: where's the real food, which cliffs are safe, how do you actually move around out here. Most answers live in our heads. This site is the slow process of writing them down.

What we cover

For now: Hualien. Eventually Taitung, and — if the right people join us — Taipei and Yilan. Every article is dated, photographed on the day, and attributed to a real person. We do not run AI-generated content farms. We don't accept sponsored reviews.

How we're different

We're both a content brand and a tour operator. That is unusual — most travel sites are affiliates. We're not. What we write about, we often also run: the canoe trip at the cliff, the e-bike route through the Rift Valley, the private charter to Taroko. We write from operational reality, not reading lists.
